Jesus Prays on the Mount of Olives

39 abAnd he came out and went, acas was his custom, to adthe Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him. 40 aeAnd when he came to afthe place, he said to them, agPray that you may not ahenter into temptation.” 41And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and aiknelt down and prayed, 42saying, ajFather, if you are willing, remove akthis cup from me. alNevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” 43And there appeared to him aman angel from heaven, strengthening him. 44And anbeing in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

45And when he rose from prayer, he came to the disciples and found them sleeping for sorrow, 46and he said to them, Why are you sleeping? Rise and appray that you may not enter into temptation.”

1 Corinthians 10:13

13No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. aqGod is faithful, and arhe will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
