Genesis 25:21-26

21And Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife, because she was barren. And athe Lord granted his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22The children struggled together within her, and she said, “If it is thus, why is this happening to me?”
Or  why do I live?
So she went cto inquire of the Lord.
23And the Lord said to her,

dTwo nations are in your womb,
and two peoples from within you
Or  from birth
shall be divided;
fthe one shall be stronger than the other,
gthe older shall serve the younger.”
24When her days to give birth were completed, behold, there were twins in her womb. 25The first came out red, hall his body like a hairy cloak, so they called his name Esau. 26Afterward his brother came out with ihis hand holding Esau’s heel, so jhis name was called Jacob.
 Jacob means He takes by the heel, or He cheats
Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.

1 Chronicles 1:34

34Abraham fathered lIsaac. The sons of Isaac: mEsau and nIsrael.

Matthew 1:2

2 oAbraham was the father of Isaac, and pIsaac the father of Jacob, and qJacob the father of Judah and his brothers,

Romans 9:9-13

9For this is what the promise said: rAbout this time next year I will return, and Sarah shall have a son.” 10And not only so, but salso when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac, 11though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of thim who calls 12she was told, u“The older will serve the younger.” 13As it is written, vJacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”
