Genesis 25:22

22The children struggled together within her, and she said, “If it is thus, why is this happening to me?”
Or  why do I live?
So she went bto inquire of the Lord.

Genesis 27:4

4and prepare for me delicious food, such as I love, and bring it to me so that I may eat, that my soul dmay bless you before I die.”

Genesis 27:33

33Then Isaac trembled very violently and said, “Who was it then that hunted game and brought it to me, and I ate it all before you came, and I have blessed him? Yes, and he shall be blessed.”

Romans 9:10-16

10And not only so, but ealso when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac, 11though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of fhim who calls 12she was told, g“The older will serve the younger.” 13As it is written, hJacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”

14What shall we say then? iIs there injustice on God’s part? By no means! 15For he says to Moses, j“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16So then it depends not on human will or exertion,
Greek  not of him who wills or runs
but on God, who has mercy.
