Genesis 25:23

23And the Lord said to her,

aTwo nations are in your womb,
and two peoples from within you
Or  from birth
shall be divided;
cthe one shall be stronger than the other,
dthe older shall serve the younger.”

2 Samuel 8:14

14Then he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, eand all the Edomites became David’s servants. And the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went.

1 Kings 11:15-17

15For fwhen David was in Edom, and Joab the commander of the army went up to bury the slain, he struck down every male in Edom 16(for Joab and all Israel remained there six months, until he had cut off every male in Edom). 17But Hadad fled to Egypt, together with certain Edomites of his father’s servants, Hadad still being a little child.

2 Kings 14:7

7 gHe struck down ten thousand Edomites in hthe Valley of Salt and took iSela by storm, and called it jJoktheel, which is its name to this day.

2 Kings 14:10

10You have indeed kstruck down Edom, land your heart has lifted you up. Be content with your glory, and stay at home, for why should you provoke trouble so that you fall, you and Judah with you?”

1 Chronicles 18:11-13

11These also King David dedicated to the Lord, together with the silver and gold that he had carried off from all the nations, from mEdom, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines, and Amalek.

12And nAbishai, the son of Zeruiah, killed 18,000 Edomites in the Valley of Salt. 13Then he put garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became David’s servants. And the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went.
