Genesis 29:15-20

15Then Laban said to Jacob, “Because you are my kinsman, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what shall your wages be?” 16Now Laban had two daughters. The name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. 17Leah’s eyes were weak,

but Rachel was beautiful in form and appearance.
18Jacob loved Rachel. And he said, b“I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel.” 19Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you than that I should give her to any other man; stay with me.” 20So Jacob cserved seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her.

Genesis 29:27-30

27 dComplete the week of this one, and we will give you the other also in return for serving me another seven years.” 28Jacob did so, and completed her week. Then Laban gave him his daughter Rachel to be his wife. 29(Laban gave ehis female servant Bilhah to his daughter Rachel to be her servant.) 30So Jacob went in to Rachel also, and he loved Rachel more than Leah, and served Laban ffor another seven years.

Genesis 30:26

26Give me my wives and my children gfor whom I have served you, that I may go, for you know the service that I have given you.”

Genesis 31:41

41These twenty years I have been in your house. hI served you fourteen years for your two daughters, and six years for your flock, and iyou have changed my wages ten times.

Exodus 21:7-11

7“When a man jsells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go out as the male slaves do. 8If she does not please her master, who has designated her
Or so that he has not designated her
for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed. He shall have no right to sell her to a foreign people, since he has broken faith with her.
9If he designates her for his son, he shall deal with her as with a daughter. 10If he takes another wife to himself, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, or lher marital rights. 11And if he does not do these three things for her, she shall go out for nothing, without payment of money.

Nehemiah 5:8

8and said to them, “We, as far as we are able, mhave bought back our Jewish brothers who have been sold to the nations, but you even sell your brothers that they may be sold to us!” They were silent and could not find a word to say.
