The Fall

1Now athe serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made.

He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You

Isaiah 13:21-22

21But cwild animals will lie down there,
and their houses will be full of howling creatures;

will dwell,
and there wild goats will dance.

and gjackals in hthe pleasant palaces;
its time is close at hand
and its days will not be prolonged.

Isaiah 43:20

20The wild beasts will honor me,
ithe jackals and the ostriches,
jfor I give water in the wilderness,
rivers in the desert,
to give drink to my chosen people,

Zephaniah 2:15

15This is the exultant city
kthat lived securely,
that said in her heart,
I am, and there is no one else.”
What a desolation she has become,
la lair for wild beasts!
mEveryone who passes by her
hisses and nshakes his fist.
