Genesis 3:16

16To the woman he said,

“I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing;
ain pain you shall bring forth children.
bYour desire shall be contrary to
Or shall be toward (see 4:7)
your husband,
but he shall drule over you.”

Isaiah 26:16-18

16 O Lord, ein distress they sought you;
they poured out a whispered prayer
when your discipline was upon them.
17 fLike a pregnant woman
who writhes and cries out in her pangs
when she is near to giving birth,
so were we because of you, O Lord;
18 gwe were pregnant, we writhed,
but we have given birth to wind.
We have accomplished no deliverance in the earth,
and the inhabitants of the world have not fallen.

Jeremiah 30:6-7

6Ask now, and see,
can a man bear a child?
hWhy then do I see every man
with his hands on his stomach ilike a woman in labor?
jWhy has every face turned pale?
7Alas! kThat day is so great
lthere is none like it;
it is a time of distress for Jacob;
yet he shall be saved out of it.

Hosea 13:13-14

13 mThe pangs of childbirth come for him,
but he is an unwise son,
for at the right time he does not present himself
nat the opening of the womb.
14 oI shall ransom them from the power of Sheol;
pI shall redeem them from Death.

Micah 4:10
