Genesis 3:17

17 And to Adam he said,

“Because you have listened to the voice of your wife
and have eaten of the tree

‘You shall not eat of it,’
^bcursed is the ground because of you;
^cin pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;

Genesis 4:12

12 When you work the ground, it shall no longer yield to you its strength. You shall be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth.”

Genesis 5:29

29 and called his name Noah, saying, “Out of the ground ^dthat the Lord has cursed, this one shall bring us relief ^{▼▼ Noah sounds like the Hebrew for rest} from our work and from the painful toil of our hands.”

Genesis 6:17

17 ^fFor behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die.
