Genesis 3:17-19

17And to Adam he said,

Because you have listened to the voice of your wife
and have eaten of the tree
aof which I commanded you,
‘You shall not eat of it,’
bcursed is the ground because of you;
cin pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;
18thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you;
and you shall eat the plants of the field.
19By the sweat of your face
you shall eat bread,
till you return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken;
dfor you are dust,
and eto dust you shall return.”

Genesis 5:29

29and called his name Noah, saying, “Out of the ground fthat the Lord has cursed, this one shall bring us relief
 Noah sounds like the Hebrew for rest
from our work and from the painful toil of our hands.”

Genesis 6:13

13And God said to Noah, h“I have determined to make an end of all flesh,
Hebrew The end of all flesh has come before me
for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Job 12:6-10

6 jThe tents of robbers are at peace,
and those who provoke God are secure,
who bring their god in their hand.
The meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain

7 But ask the beasts, and they will teach you;
the birds of the heavens, and they will tell you;
8or the bushes of the earth,
Or speak to the earth
and they will teach you;
and the fish of the sea will declare to you.
9Who among all these does not know
that mthe hand of the Lord has done this?
10In nhis hand is the life of every living thing
and the breath of all mankind.

Isaiah 24:5-6

5The earth lies odefiled
under its inhabitants;
for pthey have transgressed the laws,
violated the statutes,
broken the everlasting covenant.
6Therefore qa curse devours the earth,
and its inhabitants rsuffer for their guilt;
therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched,
and few men are left.

Jeremiah 12:4

4 sHow long will the land mourn
and the grass of every field wither?
tFor the evil of those who dwell in it
uthe beasts and the birds are swept away,
because they said, “He will not see our latter end.”

Jeremiah 12:11

11They have made it a desolation;
desolate, vit mourns to me.
The whole land is made desolate,
wbut no man lays it to heart.

Romans 8:22

22For we know that xthe whole creation yhas been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
