Genesis 3:17-19

17And to Adam he said,

Because you have listened to the voice of your wife
and have eaten of the tree
aof which I commanded you,
‘You shall not eat of it,’
bcursed is the ground because of you;
cin pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;
18thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you;
and you shall eat the plants of the field.
19By the sweat of your face
you shall eat bread,
till you return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken;
dfor you are dust,
and eto dust you shall return.”

Job 31:40

40let fthorns grow instead of wheat,
and foul weeds instead of barley.”
The words of Job are ended.

Jeremiah 4:3

3For thus says the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem:

gBreak up your fallow ground,
and hsow not among thorns.

Matthew 13:7

7Other seeds fell among ithorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them.

Matthew 13:22

22As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but jthe cares of kthe world and lthe deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.

Hebrews 6:8

8But mif it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, nand its end is to be burned.
