18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you;
and you shall eat the plants of the field.

Jeremiah 4:3-4

3 For thus says the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem:

and ^bsow not among thorns.
4 ^cCircumcise yourselves to the Lord;
remove the foreskin of your hearts,
O men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem;
^dlest my wrath go forth like fire,
and burn with none to quench it,
^ebecause of the evil of your deeds.”

Matthew 13:22

22 As for what was sown among thorns, this is the one who hears the word, but ^fthe cares of ^gthe world and ^hthe deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.

Mark 4:18-19
