Genesis 3:17-19

17 And to Adam he said,

“Because you have listened to the voice of your wife
and have eaten of the tree

‘You shall not eat of it,’
^ccursed is the ground because of you;
^din pain you shall eat of it all the days of your life;
18 thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you;
and you shall eat the plants of the field.
19 By the sweat of your face
you shall eat bread,
till you return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken;
^efor you are dust,
and ^fto dust you shall return.”

Job 14:1-4

Job Continues: Death Comes Soon to All

1 “Man who is ^gborn of a woman
is ^hfew of days and ⁱfull of trouble.

he flees like ^la shadow and continues not.
3 And do you ^mopen your eyes on such a one

Psalms 39:6

6 Surely a man ^pgoes about as a shadow!
