Genesis 31:44-52

44Come now, alet us make a covenant, you and I. bAnd let it be a witness between you and me.” 45So Jacob ctook a stone and set it up as a pillar. 46And Jacob said to his kinsmen, “Gather stones.” And they took stones and made a heap, and they ate there by the heap. 47Laban called it Jegar-sahadutha,
Aramaic the heap of witness
but Jacob called it Galeed.
Hebrew the heap of witness
48Laban said, fThis heap is a witness between you and me today.” Therefore he named it Galeed, 49 gand Mizpah,
 Mizpah means watchpost
for he said, “The Lord watch between you and me, when we are out of one another’s sight.
50If you oppress my daughters, or if you take wives besides my daughters, although no one is with us, see, iGod is witness between you and me.”

51Then Laban said to Jacob, “See this heap and the pillar, which I have set between you and me. 52 jThis heap is a witness, and the pillar is a witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you, and you will not pass over this heap and this pillar to me, to do harm.

Deuteronomy 4:26

26I kcall heaven and earth to witness against you today, that you will soon utterly perish from the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess. You will not live long in it, but will be utterly destroyed.

Deuteronomy 30:19

19I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, lblessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,

Deuteronomy 31:19

19Now therefore write mthis song and nteach it to the people of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be oa witness for me against the people of Israel.

Deuteronomy 31:21

21And when many evils and troubles have come upon them, this song shall confront them as pa witness (for it will live unforgotten in the mouths of their offspring). For qI know what they are inclined to do even today, before I have brought them into the land that I swore to give.”

Deuteronomy 31:26

26Take this Book of the Law rand put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for sa witness against you.

Joshua 22:27-28

27but to be ta witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we udo perform the service of the Lord in his presence with our burnt offerings and sacrifices and peace offerings, so your children will not say to our children in time to come, “You have no portion in the Lord.”’ 28And we thought, ‘If this should be said to us or to our descendants in time to come, we should say, “Behold, the copy of the altar of the Lord, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifice, but to be va witness between us and you.”’

Joshua 22:34

34The people of Reuben and the people of Gad called the altar Witness, “For,” they said, w“it is a witness between us that the Lord is God.”

1 Samuel 7:12

12Then Samuel xtook a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen
Hebrew; Septuagint, Syriac Jeshanah
and called its name Ebenezer;
 Ebenezer means stone of help
for he said, “Till now the Lord has helped us.”
