13But Jacob said to him, “My lord knows that the children are frail, and that the nursing flocks and herds are a care to me. If they are driven hard for one day, all the flocks will die. 14Let my lord pass on ahead of his servant, and I will lead on slowly, at the pace of the livestock that are ahead of me and at the pace of the children, until I come to my lord ain Seir.”

Isaiah 40:11

11 bHe will tend his flock like a shepherd;
che will gather the lambs in his arms;
dhe will carry them in his bosom,
and gently lead those that are with young.

Ezekiel 34:14-16

14 eI will feed them with good pasture, and on the mountain heights of Israel shall be their grazing land. fThere they shall lie down in good grazing land, and on rich pasture they shall feed on the mountains of Israel. 15 gI myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, hand I myself will make them lie down, declares the Lord God. 16 iI will seek the lost, jand I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, and kthe fat and the strong I will destroy.
