Boaz Redeems Ruth
1Now Boaz had gone up to bthe gate and sat down there. And behold, cthe redeemer, of whom Boaz had spoken, came by. So Boaz said, “Turn aside, friend; sit down here.” And he turned aside and sat down.Ruth 4:10
10Also Ruth the Moabite, the widow of Mahlon, I have bought to be my wife, dto perpetuate the name of the dead in his inheritance, that the name of the dead may not be cut off from among his brothers and from the gate of his native place. You are witnesses this day.”2 Samuel 15:2
2And Absalom used to rise early and stand beside ethe way of the gate. And when any man had a dispute to come before the king for judgment, Absalom would call to him and say, “From what city are you?” And when he said, “Your servant is of such and such a tribe in Israel,”2 Samuel 18:4
4The king said to them, “Whatever seems best to you I will do.” So the king stood at the side of the gate, while all the army marched out by hundreds and by thousands.2 Samuel 19:9
