Genesis 34:30

30Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, a“You have brought trouble on me bby making me stink to the inhabitants of the land, cthe Canaanites and the Perizzites. dMy numbers are few, and if they gather themselves against me and attack me, I shall be destroyed, both I and my household.”

Joshua 6:18

18But you, keep yourselves from the things devoted to destruction, lest when you have devoted them you take any of the devoted things and make the camp of Israel ea thing for destruction and fbring trouble upon it.

Joshua 7:11-13

11Israel has sinned; they have gtransgressed my covenant that I commanded them; they have taken some of the hdevoted things; they have stolen and lied and put them among their own belongings. 12 iTherefore the people of Israel cannot stand before their enemies. They jturn their backs before their enemies, because they have become kdevoted for destruction.
That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)
I will be with you no more, unless you destroy mthe devoted things from among you.
13Get up! Consecrate the people and say, nConsecrate yourselves for tomorrow; for thus says the Lord, God of Israel, “There are devoted things in your midst, O Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the devoted things from among you.”

1 Kings 18:17-18

17When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, o“Is it you, you ptroubler of Israel?” 18And he answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you have, and your father’s house, because you have qabandoned the commandments of the Lord and rfollowed the Baals.

7 zWill not your debtors suddenly arise,
and those awake who will make you tremble?
Then you will be spoil for them.

9 adWoe to him who gets evil gain for his house,
aeto afset his nest on high,
