Numbers 19:11-20

11 h“Whoever touches the dead body of any person shall be unclean seven days. 12He ishall cleanse himself with the water on the third day and on the seventh day, and so be clean. But if he does not cleanse himself on the third day and on the seventh day, he will not become clean. 13Whoever touches a dead person, the body of anyone who has died, and does not cleanse himself, jdefiles the tabernacle of the Lord, kand that person shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not thrown on him, he shall be unclean. His uncleanness is still on him.

14“This is the law when someone dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent and everyone who is in the tent shall be unclean seven days. 15And every lopen vessel that has no cover fastened on it is unclean. 16 mWhoever in the open field touches someone who was killed with a sword or who died naturally, or touches a human bone or a ngrave, shall be unclean seven days. 17For the unclean they shall take osome ashes of the burnt sin offering, and fresh

18Then a clean person shall take qhyssop and dip it in the water and sprinkle it on the tent and on all the furnishings and on the persons who were there and on whoever touched the bone, or the slain or the dead or the grave. 19And the clean person shall sprinkle it on the unclean ron the third day and on the seventh day. sThus on the seventh day he shall cleanse him, and he shall twash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and at evening he shall be clean.

20“If the man who is unclean does not cleanse himself, uthat person shall be cut off from the midst of the assembly, since he has defiled the sanctuary of the Lord. Because the water for impurity has not been thrown on him, he is unclean.

2 Chronicles 29:5

5and said to them, “Hear me, Levites! Now vconsecrate yourselves, and consecrate the house of the Lord, the God of your fathers, and carry out the filth from the Holy Place.

The priests threw the blood that they received from the hand of the Levites. 17For there were many in the assembly who had not consecrated themselves. Therefore the Levites had to slaughter the Passover lamb for everyone who was not clean, to consecrate it to the Lord. 18For a majority of the people, aimany of them from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the Passover otherwise ajthan as prescribed. For Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, “May the good Lord pardon everyone 19 akwho sets his heart to seek God, the Lord, the God of his fathers, even though not according to the sanctuary’s rules of cleanness.”

Job 1:5

5And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and amconsecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and anoffer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and aocursed
The Hebrew word bless is used euphemistically for curse in 1:5, 11; 2:5, 9
God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.
