35Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, reigned in his place, the name of his city being Avith.

Genesis 37:28

28Then aMidianite traders passed by. And they drew Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and bsold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels
A  shekel was about 2/5 ounce or 11 grams
of silver. They took Joseph to Egypt.

Genesis 37:36

36Meanwhile dthe Midianites had sold him in Egypt to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, ethe captain of the guard.

Exodus 2:15-16

15When Pharaoh heard of it, he sought to kill Moses. But fMoses fled from Pharaoh and stayed in the land of Midian. And he sat down by ga well.

16Now the hpriest of Midian had seven daughters, and ithey came and drew water and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.

Jethro’s Advice

1 jJethro, kthe priest of Midian, Mosesfather-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses and for Israel his people, how the Lord had brought Israel out of Egypt. 2Now Jethro, Mosesfather-in-law, had taken Zipporah, Moseswife, after he had sent her home, 3along with her ltwo sons. The name of the one was Gershom ( mfor he said, n“I have been a sojourner
 Gershom sounds like the Hebrew word for  sojourner
in a foreign land”),
4and the name of the other, Eliezer
 Eliezer means My God is help
(for he said, “The God of my father was my help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh”).

Numbers 22:4

4And Moab said to qthe elders of Midian, “This horde will now lick up all that is around us, as the ox licks up the grass of the field.” So Balak the son of Zippor, who was king of Moab at that time,

Numbers 25:17-18

17 rHarass the Midianites and strike them down, 18for they have harassed you with their swiles, with which they beguiled you in the matter of tPeor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of the chief of Midian, their sister, who was killed on the day of the plague on account of Peor.”

Numbers 31:2

2 uAvenge the people of Israel on the Midianites. Afterward you shall vbe gathered to your people.”

Numbers 31:8

8They killed the kings of Midian with the rest of their slain, wEvi, Rekem, xZur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian. And they also killed yBalaam the son of Beor with the sword.
