Genesis 37:25-28

25Then they sat down to eat. And looking up they saw a acaravan of bIshmaelites coming from Gilead, with their camels bearing cgum, balm, and myrrh, on their way to carry it down to Egypt. 26Then Judah said to his brothers, “What profit is it dif we kill our brother and conceal his blood? 27Come, let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and elet not our hand be upon him, for he is our brother, our own flesh.” And his brothers listened to him. 28Then fMidianite traders passed by. And they drew Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and gsold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels
A  shekel was about 2/5 ounce or 11 grams
of silver. They took Joseph to Egypt.

Genesis 42:21-22

21Then they said to one another, i“In truth we are guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the distress of his soul, when he begged us and we did not listen. That is why this distress has come upon us.” 22And Reuben answered them, j“Did I not tell you not to sin against the boy? But you did not listen. So now kthere comes a reckoning for his blood.”
