14she took off her widow’s garments aand covered herself with a veil, wrapping herself up, and sat at the entrance to bEnaim, which is on the road to Timnah. For she saw that Shelah was grown up, cand she had not been given to him in marriage. 15When Judah saw her, he thought she was a prostitute, for she had covered her face.

22And when Joram saw Jehu, he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace can there be, so long as dthe whorings and the sorceries of your mother Jezebel are so many?”

Isaiah 3:16-24

16 The Lord said:

24 Instead of qperfume there will be rottenness;
and instead of a rbelt, a rope;
and instead of swell-set hair, tbaldness;
and instead of a rich robe, a uskirt of sackcloth;
and vbranding instead of beauty.

Isaiah 23:16

16 Take a harp;
go about the city,
O forgotten prostitute!
Make sweet melody;
sing many songs,
that you may be remembered.”

Jeremiah 4:30

30And you, O desolate one,
what do you mean that you dress in scarlet,
wthat you adorn yourself with ornaments of gold,
xthat you enlarge your eyes with paint?
In vain you beautify yourself.
yYour lovers despise you;
they seek your life.

1 Timothy 2:9

9likewise also zthat women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire,
