God’s Covenant with Noah

20Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

Genesis 12:8

8From there he moved to the hill country on the east of cBethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord.

Genesis 22:13

13And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up as a burnt offering instead of his son.

Genesis 33:20

20There he erected an altar and called it El-Elohe-Israel.
 El-Elohe-Israel means God, the God of Israel


Genesis 35:3

3Then let us arise and go up to Bethel, so that I may make there an altar to the God ewho answers me in the day of my distress and fhas been with me wherever I have gone.”

Genesis 35:7

7and there he built an altar and called the place El-bethel,
 El-bethel means God of Bethel
because hthere God had revealed himself to him when he fled from his brother.

Job 1:5

5And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and iconsecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and joffer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and kcursed
The Hebrew word bless is used euphemistically for curse in 1:5, 11; 2:5, 9
God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.

Job 42:8

8Now therefore take mseven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and noffer up a burnt offering for yourselves. And my servant Job shall opray for you, for I will accept his prayer not to deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me what is right, as my servant Job has.”
