Genesis 4:4-8

4and Abel also brought of athe firstborn of his flock and of their fat portions. And the Lord bhad regard for Abel and his offering, 5but cfor Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his face fell. 6The Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry, and why has your face fallen? 7 dIf you do well, will you not be accepted?
Hebrew  will there not be a lifting up [of your face]?
And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. fIts desire is contrary to
Or is toward
you, but you must rule over it.”

8Cain spoke to Abel his brother.
Hebrew; Samaritan, Septuagint, Syriac, Vulgate add Let us go out to the field
And when they were in the field, Cain rose up against his brother Abel and ikilled him.

John 11:53

53So from that day on they jmade plans to put him to death.

1 John 3:12-15

12We should not be like kCain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? lBecause his own deeds were evil and his brother’s righteous. 13Do not be surprised, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church; also verses 14, 16
nthat the world hates you.
14We know that owe have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death. 15 pEveryone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that qno murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
