Genesis 40:15

15For aI was indeed stolen out of the land of the Hebrews, and bhere also I have done nothing that they should put me into the pit.”

Acts 23:1-11

1And looking intently at the council, Paul said, “Brothers, cI have lived my life before God in all good conscience up to this day.” 2And the high priest dAnanias commanded those who stood by him eto strike him on the mouth. 3Then Paul said to him, “God is going to strike you, you fwhitewashed gwall! Are you sitting to judge me according to the law, and yet hcontrary to the law you iorder me to be struck?” 4Those who stood by said, “Would you revile jGod’s high priest?” 5And Paul said, k“I did not know, brothers, that he was the high priest, for it is written, l‘You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’”

6Now when Paul perceived that one part were mSadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, “Brothers, nI am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. It is owith respect to the phope and the resurrection of the dead that I am on trial.” 7And when he had said this, a dissension arose between the Pharisees and the Sadducees, and the assembly was divided. 8For the Sadducees qsay that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all. 9Then a great clamor arose, and some of rthe scribes of the Phariseesparty stood up and contended sharply, s“We find nothing wrong in this man. What tif a spirit or an angel spoke to him?” 10And when the dissension became violent, the tribune, afraid that Paul would be torn to pieces by them, commanded the soldiers to go down and take him away from among them by force and bring him into uthe barracks.

11 vThe following night wthe Lord stood by him and said, x“Take courage, for yas you have testified to the facts about me in Jerusalem, so you must ztestify also in Rome.”

Acts 24:10-16

10And when the governor had nodded to him to speak, Paul replied:

Knowing that for many years you have been a judge over this nation, I cheerfully make my defense.
11You can verify that aait is not more than twelve days since I abwent up acto worship in Jerusalem, 12and adthey did not find me disputing with anyone or stirring up a crowd, either in the temple or in the synagogues or in the city. 13 aeNeither can they prove to you what they now bring up against me. 14But this I confess to you, that according to afthe Way, which they call aga sect, ahI worship aithe God of our fathers, believing everything ajlaid down by the Law and written in the Prophets, 15 akhaving ala hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be ama resurrection anof both the just and the unjust. 16So I always aotake pains to have a apclear conscience toward both God and man.

Acts 25:8

8Paul argued in his defense, “Neither aqagainst arthe law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor asagainst Caesar have I committed any offense.”

Acts 25:10

10But Paul said, “I am standing before Caesar’s attribunal, where I ought to be tried. To the Jews I have done no wrong, as you yourself know very well.
