Genesis 41:30-31

30but after them there will arise aseven years of famine, and all the plenty will be forgotten in the land of Egypt. bThe famine will consume the land, 31and the plenty will be unknown in the land by reason of the famine that will follow, for it will be very severe.

1 Kings 18:5

5And Ahab said to Obadiah, “Go through the land to all the springs of water and to all the valleys. Perhaps we may find grass and save the horses and mules alive, and not lose some of the animals.”

Jeremiah 14:1-6

Famine, Sword, and Pestilence

1The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah concerning cthe drought:

2 dJudah mourns,
and eher gates languish;
her people lament on the ground,
and fthe cry of Jerusalem goes up.
3Her nobles send their servants for water;
they come to the cisterns;
they find no water;
they return with their vessels empty;
they are gashamed and confounded
and hcover their heads.
4Because of the ground that is dismayed,
since there is ino rain on the land,
the farmers are ashamed;
they cover their heads.
5Even jthe doe in the field forsakes her newborn fawn
because there is no grass.
6 kThe wild donkeys stand on the bare heights;
they pant for air like jackals;
their eyes fail
because there is no vegetation.

Lamentations 2:19-20

19 Arise, lcry out in the night,
at the beginning of the night watches!
mPour out your heart like water
before the presence of the Lord!
nLift your hands to him
for the lives of your children,
owho faint for hunger
at the head of every street.”
20 Look, O Lord, and see!
pWith whom have you dealt thus?
qShould women eat the fruit of their womb,
the children of rtheir tender care?
Should spriest and prophet be killed
in the sanctuary of the Lord?

Lamentations 4:9

9 Happier were the victims of the sword
than the victims of hunger,
who wasted away, pierced
by lack of the fruits of the field.

Acts 7:11

11Now tthere came a famine throughout all Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction, and our fathers could find no food.
