Genesis 41:54-57

54and athe seven years of famine began to come, bas Joseph had said. There was famine in all lands, but in all the land of Egypt there was bread. 55When all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread. Pharaoh said to all the Egyptians, “Go to Joseph. What he says to you, do.”

56So when the famine had spread over all the land, Joseph opened all the storehouses
Hebrew  all that was in them
and dsold to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe in the land of Egypt.
57Moreover, all the earth came to Egypt to Joseph to buy grain, because the famine was severe eover all the earth.

Genesis 43:1

Joseph’s Brothers Return to Egypt

1Now the famine was fsevere in the land.

Genesis 45:5-6

5And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, gfor God sent me before you to preserve life. 6For the famine has been in the land these two years, and there are hyet five years in which there will be neither iplowing nor harvest.

Genesis 45:11

11 jThere I will provide for you, for there are yet five years of famine to come, so that you and your household, and all that you have, do not come to poverty.’

Genesis 47:13-15

Joseph and the Famine

13Now there was no food in all the land, for the famine was very severe, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan languished by reason of the famine. 14 kAnd Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan, in exchange for the grain that they bought. And Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house. 15And when the money was all spent in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came to Joseph and said, “Give us food. lWhy should we die before your eyes? For our money is gone.”
