Genesis 43:9

9I will be a pledge of his safety. From my hand you shall require him. aIf I do not bring him back to you and set him before you, then let me bear the blame forever.

Genesis 44:32-33

32For your servant became a pledge of safety for the boy to my father, saying, bIf I do not bring him back to you, then I shall bear the blame before my father all my life.’ 33Now therefore, please let your servant remain instead of the boy as a servant to my lord, and let the boy go back with his brothers.

Job 17:3

3 “Lay down a pledge for me with you;
who is there who will put up csecurity for me?

Proverbs 11:15

15 dWhoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer harm,
but he who hates striking hands in pledge is secure.

Proverbs 17:18

18One who lacks sense gives a pledge
and puts up security in the presence of his neighbor.

Proverbs 20:16

16 eTake a man’s garment when he has put up security for a stranger,
and fhold it in pledge when he puts up security for foreigners.
Or  for an adulteress (compare 27:13)

Proverbs 22:26

26Be not one of those who hgive pledges,
who put up security for debts.

Hebrew  a foreign woman; a slight emendation yields (compare Vulgate; see also 20:16) foreigners
