Jeremiah 4:19-21

Anguish over Judah’s Desolation

19 aMy anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain!
Oh the walls of my heart!
My heart is beating wildly;
I cannot keep silent,
for I hear the sound of the trumpet,
the alarm of war.
20 bCrash follows hard on crash;
the whole land is laid waste.
cSuddenly my tents are laid waste,
my curtains in a moment.
21How long must I see the standard
and hear the sound of the trumpet?

Jeremiah 14:18

18 dIf I go out into the field,
behold, those pierced by the sword!
eAnd if I enter the city,
behold, the diseases of famine!
fFor both prophet and priest ply their trade through the land
and have no knowledge.’”

And othey will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know pthe time of your qvisitation.”
