Genesis 48:19-20
19But his father refused and said, a“I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great. Nevertheless, bhis younger brother shall be greater than he, and his offspring shall become a multitude ▼▼Hebrew fullness
of nations.” 20So he blessed them that day, saying, “By you Israel will pronounce blessings, saying,
d‘God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh.’”
Thus he put Ephraim before Manasseh.

Jephthah’s Conflict with Ephraim
1 gThe men of Ephraim were called to arms, and they crossed to Zaphon and said to Jephthah, “Why did you cross over to fight against the Ammonites and did not call us to go with you? We will burn your house over you with fire.” 2And Jephthah said to them, “I and my people had a great dispute with the Ammonites, and when I called you, you did not save me from their hand.1 Kings 11:26
26 hJeroboam the son of Nebat, ian Ephraimite of Zeredah, a servant of Solomon, whose mother’s name was Zeruah, a widow, also jlifted up his hand against the king.1 Kings 12:20
20And when all Israel heard that Jeroboam had returned, they sent and called him to the assembly and made him king over all Israel. There was none that followed the house of David but kthe tribe of Judah only.
