Genesis 49:10-11

10The ascepter shall not depart from Judah,
nor the ruler’s staff bfrom between his feet,
until tribute comes to him;
By a slight revocalization; a slight emendation yields (compare Septuagint, Syriac, Targum)  until he comes to whom it belongs; Hebrew until Shiloh comes, or until he comes to Shiloh

and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.
11Binding his foal to the vine
and his donkey’s colt to the choice vine,
he has washed his garments in wine
and his vesture in the blood of grapes.

Psalms 80:8-19

8 You brought da vine out of Egypt;
you edrove out the nations and planted it.
9You fcleared the ground for it;
it took deep root and filled the land.
10The mountains were covered with its shade,
the mighty cedars with its branches.
11It sent out its branches to gthe sea
and its shoots to hthe River.
That is,  the Euphrates

12Why then have you jbroken down its walls,
so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit?
13 kThe boar from the forest ravages it,
and all that move in the field feed on it.
14 Turn again, O God of hosts!
lLook down from heaven, and see;
have regard for this vine,
15the stock that your right hand planted,
and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.
16They have mburned it with fire; they have ncut it down;
may they perish at othe rebuke of your face!
17But plet your hand be on the man of your right hand,
the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself!
18Then we shall not turn back from you;
qgive us life, and we will call upon your name!
19 rRestore us, O Lord God of hosts!
Let your face shine, that we may be saved!

Isaiah 4:2

The Branch of the Lord Glorified

2In that day sthe branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and tthe fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel.

Isaiah 5:1-7

The Vineyard of the Lord Destroyed

1 Let me sing for my beloved
my love song concerning his vineyard:
My beloved had ua vineyard
on a very fertile hill.
2He dug it and cleared it of stones,
and planted it with vchoice vines;
he built a watchtower in the midst of it,
and hewed out a wine vat in it;
and whe looked for it to yield grapes,
but it yielded wild grapes.
3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem
and men of Judah,
judge between me and my vineyard.
4 xWhat more was there to do for my vineyard,
that I have not done in it?
yWhen I looked for it to yield grapes,
why did it yield wild grapes?
5 And now I will tell you
what I will do to my vineyard.
I will remove zits hedge,
and it shall be devoured;
Or grazed over; compare Exodus 22:5

abI will break down its wall,
and it shall be trampled down.
6I will make it a waste;
it shall not be pruned or hoed,
and acbriers and thorns shall grow up;
adI will also command the clouds
that they rain no rain upon it.
7 aeFor the vineyard of the Lord of hosts
is the house of Israel,
and the men of Judah
are his pleasant planting;
and he looked for justice,
but behold, bloodshed;
The Hebrew words for  justice and  bloodshed sound alike

for righteousness,
but behold, an outcry!
The Hebrew words for  righteous and  outcry sound alike

Jeremiah 2:21

21 ahYet I planted you a choice vine,
wholly of pure seed.
aiHow then have you turned degenerate
and become a wild vine?

Jeremiah 12:10

10Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard;
ajthey have trampled down my portion;
they have made my pleasant portion
a desolate wilderness.

Ezekiel 15:2-6

2 akSon of man, how does althe wood of the vine surpass any wood, the vine branch that is among the trees of the forest? 3Is wood taken from it to make anything? Do people take ama peg from it to hang any vessel on it? 4 anBehold, it is given to the fire for fuel. When the fire has consumed both ends of it, and the middle of it is charred, is it useful for anything? 5 aoBehold, when it was whole, it was used for nothing. How much less, when the fire has consumed it and it is charred, can it ever be used for anything! 6Therefore thus says the Lord God: apLike the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, aqwhich I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
