The Last Words of David

1Now these are the last words of David:

The oracle of David, the son of Jesse,
the oracle of bthe man who was raised on high,
cthe anointed of the God of Jacob,
the sweet psalmist of Israel:
Or  the favorite of the songs of Israel

2 e“The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me;
his word is on my tongue.
3The God of Israel has spoken;
fthe Rock of Israel has said to me:
When one rules justly over men,
ruling gin the fear of God,
4he hdawns on them like the morning light,
like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning,
like rain
Hebrew from rain
that makes grass to sprout from the earth.
5 For does not my house stand so with God?
jFor he has made with me an everlasting covenant,
ordered in all things and secure.
For will he not cause to prosper
all my help and my desire?

Isaiah 49:6

6he says:
“It is too light a thing that you should be my servant
to raise up the tribes of Jacob
and to bring back the preserved of Israel;
kI will make you las a light for the nations,
that mmy salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

Luke 2:10-11
