1 Now these are the last words of David:

The oracle of David, the son of Jesse,
the oracle of ^bthe man who was raised on high,
^cthe anointed of the God of Jacob,
the sweet psalmist of Israel: ^{▼▼Or the favorite of the songs of Israel}
2 ^e“The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me;
his word is on my tongue.
3 The God of Israel has spoken;
^fthe Rock of Israel has said to me:
When one rules justly over men,
ruling ^gin the fear of God,
4 he ^hdawns on them like the morning light,
like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning,
like rain ^{▼▼Hebrew from rain} that makes grass to sprout from the earth.
5 “For does not my house stand so with God?
^jFor he has made with me an everlasting covenant,
ordered in all things and secure.
For will he not cause to prosper
all my help and my desire?

Isaiah 49:6

6 he says:
“It is too light a thing that you should be my servant
to raise up the tribes of Jacob
and to bring back the preserved of Israel;
^kI will make you ^las a light for the nations,
that ^mmy salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

Luke 2:10-11
