2the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose.Deuteronomy 7:3-4
3 aYou shall not intermarry with them, giving your daughters to their sons or taking their daughters for your sons, 4for they would turn away your sons from following me, to serve other gods. bThen the anger of the Lord would be kindled against you, and he would destroy you cquickly.Joshua 23:12-13
12For if you turn back and cling to the remnant of these nations remaining among you dand make marriages with them, so that you associate with them and they with you, 13know for certain that ethe Lord your God will no longer drive out these nations before you, fbut they shall be a snare and a trap for you, a whip on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good ground that the Lord your God has given you.Nehemiah 13:23-29
23In those days also I saw the Jews gwho had married women hof Ashdod, iAmmon, and jMoab. 24And half of their children spoke the language of Ashdod, and they could not speak the language of Judah, but only the language of each people. 25 kAnd I confronted them and cursed them and beat some of them and pulled out their hair. lAnd I made them take an oath in the name of God, saying, “You shall not give your daughters to their sons, or take their daughters for your sons or for yourselves. 26 mDid not Solomon king of Israel sin on account of such women? nAmong the many nations there was no king like him, and he was obeloved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel. Nevertheless, foreign women made even him to sin. 27Shall we then listen to you and do all this great evil and pact treacherously against our God by marrying foreign women?”28And one of the sons of qJehoiada, the son of rEliashib the high priest, was the son-in-law of sSanballat the Horonite. Therefore I chased him from me. 29 tRemember them, O my God, because they have desecrated the priesthood uand the covenant of the priesthood and the Levites.
