Genesis 6:6-7

6And athe Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it bgrieved him to his heart. 7So the Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”

Psalms 80:8-16

8 You brought ca vine out of Egypt;
you ddrove out the nations and planted it.
9You ecleared the ground for it;
it took deep root and filled the land.
10The mountains were covered with its shade,
the mighty cedars with its branches.
11It sent out its branches to fthe sea
and its shoots to gthe River.
That is,  the Euphrates

12Why then have you ibroken down its walls,
so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit?
13 jThe boar from the forest ravages it,
and all that move in the field feed on it.
14 Turn again, O God of hosts!
kLook down from heaven, and see;
have regard for this vine,
15the stock that your right hand planted,
and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.
16They have lburned it with fire; they have mcut it down;
may they perish at nthe rebuke of your face!

Isaiah 5:2-7

2He dug it and cleared it of stones,
and planted it with ochoice vines;
he built a watchtower in the midst of it,
and hewed out a wine vat in it;
and phe looked for it to yield grapes,
but it yielded wild grapes.
3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem
and men of Judah,
judge between me and my vineyard.
4 qWhat more was there to do for my vineyard,
that I have not done in it?
rWhen I looked for it to yield grapes,
why did it yield wild grapes?
5 And now I will tell you
what I will do to my vineyard.
I will remove sits hedge,
and it shall be devoured;
Or grazed over; compare Exodus 22:5

uI will break down its wall,
and it shall be trampled down.
6I will make it a waste;
it shall not be pruned or hoed,
and vbriers and thorns shall grow up;
wI will also command the clouds
that they rain no rain upon it.
7 xFor the vineyard of the Lord of hosts
is the house of Israel,
and the men of Judah
are his pleasant planting;
and he looked for justice,
but behold, bloodshed;
The Hebrew words for  justice and  bloodshed sound alike

for righteousness,
but behold, an outcry!
The Hebrew words for  righteous and  outcry sound alike

Jeremiah 1:10

10See, I have set you this day aaover nations and over kingdoms,
abto pluck up and to break down,
to destroy and to overthrow,
to build and to plant.”

Jeremiah 18:7-10

7If at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom, that I will acpluck up and break down and destroy it, 8and if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, adturns from its evil, aeI will relent of the disaster that I intended to do to it. 9And if at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will afbuild and plant it, 10and if it does evil in my sight, not listening to my voice, then I will relent of the good that I had intended to do to it.

Jeremiah 31:28

28And it shall come to pass that agas I have watched over them ahto pluck up and break down, to overthrow, destroy, and bring harm, aiso I will watch over them ajto build and to plant, declares the Lord.
