No One Is Righteous

9What then? Are we Jews
Greek  Are we
any better off?
Or at any disadvantage?
No, not at all. For we have already charged that all, both vJews and wGreeks, are xunder sin,
10as it is written:

y“None is righteous, no, not one;
11no one understands;
no one seeks for God.
12All have turned aside; together they have become worthless;
no one does good,
not even one.”
13 zTheir throat is aaan open grave;
they use their tongues to deceive.”
ab“The venom of asps is under their lips.”
14 acTheir mouth is full of curses and bitterness.”
15 adTheir feet are swift to shed blood;
16in their paths are ruin and misery,
17and aethe way of peace they have not known.”
18 af“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
19Now we know that whatever agthe law says it speaks to those who are under the law, ahso that every mouth may be stopped, and aithe whole world may be held accountable to God. 20For ajby works of the law no human being
Greek flesh
will be justified in his sight, since althrough the law comes knowledge of sin.

The Righteousness of God Through Faith

21But now amthe righteousness of God anhas been manifested apart from the law, although aothe Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22the righteousness of God apthrough faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. aqFor there is no distinction: 23for arall have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 asand are justified atby his grace as a gift, authrough the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25whom God avput forward as awa propitiation axby his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in ayhis divine forbearance he had passed over azformer sins.

Philippians 3:6-9

6 baas to zeal, bba persecutor of the church; bcas to righteousness under the law,
Greek in the law
blameless.
7But bewhatever gain I had, bfI counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8Indeed, I count everything as loss because of bgthe surpassing worth of bhknowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I bihave suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9and be found in him, not having bja righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but bkthat which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith
