Curses for Disobedience

15“But cif you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do all his commandments and his statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you and dovertake you. 16Cursed shall you be ein the city, and cursed shall you be in the field. 17Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 18Cursed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. 19Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.

20“The Lord fwill send on you curses, confusion, and gfrustration in all that you undertake to do, huntil you are destroyed and perish quickly on account of the evil of your deeds, because you have forsaken me. 21The Lord will make ithe pestilence stick to you until he has consumed you off the land that you are entering to take possession of it. 22 jThe Lord will strike you with wasting disease and with fever, inflammation and fiery heat, and with drought

and with lblight and with mildew. They shall pursue you until you perish.
23And mthe heavens over your head shall be bronze, and the earth under you shall be iron. 24The Lord will make the rain of your land powder. From heaven dust shall come down on you until you are destroyed.

25 n“The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You shall go out one way against them and flee seven ways before them. And you oshall be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth. 26And pyour dead body shall be food for all birds of the air and for the beasts of the earth, and qthere shall be no one to frighten them away.

Judges 9:20

20But if not, rlet fire come out from Abimelech and devour the leaders of Shechem and Beth-millo; and let fire come out from the leaders of Shechem and from Beth-millo and devour Abimelech.”

Judges 9:57

57And God also made all the evil of the men of Shechem return on their heads, and upon them came sthe curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.

2 Kings 1:10-12

10But Elijah answered the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, tlet fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

11Again the king sent to him another captain of fifty men with his fifty. And he answered and said to him, “O man of God, this is the king’s order, ‘Come down quickly!’” 12But Elijah answered them, “If I am a man of God, ulet fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

Jeremiah 28:16

16Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will remove you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, vbecause you have uttered rebellion against the Lord.’”

Jeremiah 29:21-23

21Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning Ahab the son of Kolaiah and Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, wwho are prophesying a lie to you in my name: Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he shall strike them down before your eyes. 22 xBecause of them ythis curse shall be used by all the exiles from Judah in Babylon: “The Lord make you like Zedekiah and Ahab, zwhom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire,” 23because they have done an outrageous thing in Israel, aathey have committed adultery with their neighborswives, and abthey have spoken in my name lying words that I did not command them. acI am the one who knows, adand I am witness, declares the Lord.’”
