Genesis 9:5-6

5And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: afrom every beast I will require it and bfrom man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.

6 c“Whoever sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed,
dfor God made man in his own image.

Exodus 21:12

12 e“Whoever strikes a man so that he dies shall be put to death.

Numbers 35:31-34

31Moreover, you shall accept no ransom for the life of a murderer, who is guilty of death, but he shall be put to death. 32And you shall accept no ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge, that he may return to dwell in the land before the death of the high priest. 33You shall not fpollute the land in which you live, for blood gpollutes the land, and no atonement can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, except hby the blood of the one who shed it. 34 iYou shall not defile the land in which you live, in the midst of which I dwell, jfor I the Lord dwell in the midst of the people of Israel.”

2 Samuel 3:27

27And when Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the midst of the gate to speak with him privately, kand there he struck him lin the stomach, so that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

2 Samuel 3:39

39And I was gentle today, though anointed king. mThese men, the sons of Zeruiah, are more severe than I. nThe Lord repay the evildoer according to his wickedness!”

Psalms 9:12

12For he who oavenges blood is mindful of them;
he pdoes not forget the cry of the afflicted.
