Habakkuk 1:6-10

6 For behold, ^aI am raising up the Chaldeans,
that bitter and hasty nation,
^bwho march through the breadth of the earth,
^cto seize dwellings not their own.
7 They are dreaded and fearsome;
^dtheir justice and dignity go forth from themselves.
8 ^eTheir horses are swifter than leopards,
more fierce than ^fthe evening wolves;
their horsemen press proudly on.
Their horsemen come from afar;
^gthey fly like an eagle swift to devour.
9 They all come ^hfor violence,
all their faces forward.
They gather captives ⁱlike sand.
10 At kings they scoff,
and at rulers they laugh.
^jThey laugh at every fortress,
for ^kthey pile up earth and take it.

John 8:5-7

5 Now ^lin the Law, Moses commanded us ^mto stone such women. So what do you say?” 6 This they said ⁿto test him, ^othat they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. 7 And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, ^p“Let him who is without sin among you ^qbe the first to throw a stone at her.”
