Jesus, Founder and Perfecter of Our Faith

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and asin which clings so closely, and blet us run cwith endurance the race that is dset before us,

2 Peter 1:5-10

5For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith ewith virtue,
Or excellence; twice in this verse
and virtue gwith knowledge,
6and knowledge with self-control, and self-control hwith steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7and godliness iwith brotherly affection, and brotherly affection jwith love. 8For if these qualities
Greek  these things; also verses 9, 10, 12
are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or lunfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he mis blind, having forgotten that he was ncleansed from his former sins. 10Therefore, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church
be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and pelection, for if you practice these qualities qyou will never fall.

2 Peter 3:18

18But rgrow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. sTo him be the glory both now and to the day of teternity. Amen.
