Hebrews 12:1-3

Jesus, Founder and Perfecter of Our Faith

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and asin which clings so closely, and blet us run cwith endurance the race that is dset before us, 2looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, ewho for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising fthe shame, and gis seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Do Not Grow Weary

3 hConsider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or ifainthearted.

James 1:3-4

3for you know that jthe testing of your faith kproduces steadfastness. 4And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be lperfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

James 5:7-8

Patience in Suffering

7Be patient, therefore, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters; also verses 9, 10, 12, 19
until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives nthe early and the late rains.
8You also, be patient. oEstablish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord pis at hand.
