2 Take with you words
and return to the Lord;
say to him,
“Take away all iniquity;
accept ^cwhat is good,
and we will pay with bulls
^dthe vows ^{▼▼Septuagint, Syriac pay the fruit} of our lips.
3 ^fAssyria shall not save us;
^gwe will not ride on horses;
and ^hwe will say no more, ‘Our God,’
to the work of our hands.
ⁱIn you the orphan finds mercy.”

Amos 5:14-15

14 ^jSeek good, and not evil,
that you may live;
and so the Lord, ^kthe God of hosts, will be with you,
as you have said.
