Hosea 5:3-14

3 aI know Ephraim,
and Israel is not hidden from me;
for now, O Ephraim, you have played the whore;
Israel is defiled.
4 bTheir deeds do not permit them
to return to their God.
For cthe spirit of whoredom is within them,
and they know not the Lord.
5 dThe pride of Israel testifies to his face;
Or in his presence

Israel and fEphraim shall stumble in his guilt;
gJudah also shall stumble with them.
6 hWith their flocks and herds they shall go
to seek the Lord,
ibut they will not find him;
jhe has withdrawn from them.
7 kThey have dealt faithlessly with the Lord;
for they have borne alien children.
Now the new moon shall devour them with their fields.
8 lBlow the horn in mGibeah,
the trumpet in nRamah.
Sound the alarm at oBeth-aven;
we follow you,
Or after you
O Benjamin!
9Ephraim shall become a desolation
in the day of punishment;
among the tribes of Israel
I make known what is sure.
10The princes of Judah have become
like qthose who move the landmark;
upon them I will pour out
my wrath like water.
11Ephraim is roppressed, crushed in judgment,
because he was determined to go after filth.
Or  to follow human precepts

12But I am tlike a moth to Ephraim,
and ulike dry rot to the house of Judah.
13 When Ephraim saw his sickness,
and Judah vhis wound,
then Ephraim went wto Assyria,
and sent to the great king.
Or  to King Jareb

yBut he is not able to cure you
or heal zyour wound.
14For I will be aalike a lion to abEphraim,
and like a young lion to the house of acJudah.
adI, even I, will tear and go away;
I will carry off, and no one shall rescue.

Hosea 11:3-12

3 Yet it was aeI who taught Ephraim to walk;
I took them up by their arms,
but they did not know that afI healed them.
4 agI led them with cords of kindness,
Or humaneness; Hebrew man

with the bands of love,
and aiI became to them as one who eases the yoke on their jaws,
and ajI bent down to them and fed them.
5 akThey shall not
Or surely
return to the land of Egypt,
but amAssyria shall be their king,
anbecause aothey have refused to return to me.
6 apThe sword shall rage against their cities,
consume the bars of their gates,
and devour them aqbecause of their own counsels.
7My people are bent aron turning away from me,
and though asthey call out to the Most High,
he shall not raise them up at all.
8 How can I give you up, O Ephraim?
How can I hand you over, O Israel?
atHow can I make you aulike Admah?
How can I treat you avlike Zeboiim?
awMy heart recoils within me;
my compassion grows warm and tender.
9I will not execute my burning anger;
I will not again destroy Ephraim;
axfor I am God and not a man,
aythe Holy One in your midst,
and I will not come in wrath.
Or into the city

10 baThey shall go after the Lord;
bbhe will roar like a lion;
when he roars,
his children shall come trembling bcfrom the west;
11they shall come trembling like birds bdfrom Egypt,
and belike doves bffrom the land of Assyria,
and I will return them to their homes, declares the Lord.
12
Ch 12:1 in Hebrew
Ephraim bhhas surrounded me with lies,
and the house of Israel with deceit,
but Judah still walks with God
and is faithful to the Holy One.
