And they asked him, ^d“Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”— ^eso that they might accuse him. 11 He said to them, “Which one of you who has a sheep, ^fif it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not take hold of it and lift it out? 12 ^gOf how much more value is a man than a sheep! So ^hit is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”

Mark 2:27-28

27 And he said to them, ⁱ“The Sabbath was made for man, ^jnot man for the Sabbath. 28 So ^kthe Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”

9 And Jesus said to them, “I ask you, ^lis it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to destroy it?”

Luke 13:13-17

13 And he ^mlaid his hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and she ⁿglorified God. 14 But ^othe ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus ^phad healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, ^q“There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” 15 Then the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! ^rDoes not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the manger and lead it away to water it? 16 And ought not this woman, ^sa daughter of Abraham whom ^tSatan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” 17 As he said these things, ^uall his adversaries were put to shame, and ^vall the people rejoiced at all the glorious things that were done by him.

Luke 14:1-5

Healing of a Man on the Sabbath

1 One Sabbath, ^wwhen he went to dine at the house of a ruler of the Pharisees, they were ^xwatching him carefully. 2 And behold, there was a man before him who had dropsy. 3 And Jesus responded to ^ythe lawyers and Pharisees, saying, ^z“Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?” 4 But they remained silent. Then he took him and healed him and sent him away. 5 And he said to them, ^aa“Which of you, having a son ^{▼▼Some manuscripts a donkey} or an ox that has fallen into a well on a Sabbath day, will not immediately pull him out?”
