Isaiah 1:10-15

10 Hear the word of the Lord,
you rulers of a, bSodom!
Give ear to the teaching
Or law
of our God,
you people of dGomorrah!
11 eWhat to me is the multitude of your sacrifices?
says the Lord;
I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
and the fat of well-fed beasts;
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
or of lambs, or of goats.
12 “When you come to fappear before me,
who has required of you
this trampling of my courts?
13Bring no more vain offerings;
incense is an abomination to me.
gNew moon and Sabbath and the hcalling of convocations
I cannot endure iiniquity and jsolemn assembly.
14Your knew moons and your appointed feasts
my soul hates;
they have become a burden to me;
I am weary of bearing them.
15When you lspread out your hands,
I will hide my eyes from you;
meven though you make many prayers,
I will not listen;
nyour hands are full of blood.

Isaiah 26:8-9

8In the path of your judgments,
O Lord, we wait for you;
oyour name and premembrance
are the desire of our soul.
9My soul yearns for you in the night;
my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
qFor when your judgments are in the earth,
the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

Isaiah 29:13

13 And the Lord said:
Because rthis people sdraw near with their mouth
and honor me with their lips,
while their hearts are far from me,
and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men,

Isaiah 48:1-2

Israel Refined for God’s Glory

1 Hear this, O house of Jacob,
twho are called by the name of Israel,
and uwho came from the waters of Judah,
vwho swear by the name of the Lord
and confess the God of Israel,
but not in truth or right.
2For they call themselves after the holy city,
wand stay themselves on the God of Israel;
the Lord of hosts is his name.

Isaiah 58:2

2 xYet they seek me daily
and delight to know my ways,
as if they were a nation that did righteousness
and did not forsake the judgment of their God;
they ask of me righteous judgments;
they delight to draw near to God.

Isaiah 58:8-14

8 yThen shall your light break forth like the dawn,
zand your healing shall spring up speedily;
aayour righteousness shall go before you;
abthe glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’
If you take away acthe yoke from your midst,
adthe pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
10 aeif you pour yourself out for the hungry
and satisfy the desire of the afflicted,
afthen shall your light rise in the darkness
and your gloom be as the noonday.
11And the Lord will guide you continually
and satisfy your desire in scorched places
and make your bones strong;
and you shall be aglike a watered garden,
like a spring of water,
whose waters do not fail.
12 ahAnd your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt;
you shall raise up the foundations of many generations;
you shall be called the repairer of the breach,
the restorer of streets to dwell in.
13 aiIf you turn back your foot from the Sabbath,
from doing your pleasure
Or business
on my holy day,
and call the Sabbath a delight
and the holy day of the Lord honorable;
if you honor it, not going your own ways,
or seeking akyour own pleasure,
Or pursuing your own business
or talking idly;
Hebrew  or speaking a word

14then you shall take delight in the Lord,
anand I will make you ride on the heights of the earth;
Or  of the land

apI will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father,
aqfor the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

Isaiah 66:1-2

The Humble and Contrite in Spirit

1 arThus says the Lord:
asHeaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool;
what is the house that you would build for me,
and what is the place of my rest?
2 atAll these things my hand has made,
and so all these things came to be,

declares the Lord.
auBut this is the one to whom I will look:
he who is humble and contrite in spirit
and trembles at my word.

Jeremiah 7:7-12

7 avthen I will let you dwell in this place, awin the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever.

8Behold, you trust in deceptive words to no avail. 9 axWill you steal, murder, commit adultery, ayswear falsely, azmake offerings to Baal, baand go after other gods that you have not known, 10and then come and stand before me in this house, bbwhich is called by my name, and say, ‘We are delivered!’—only to go on doing all these abominations? 11 bcHas this house, bdwhich is called by my name, bebecome a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I myself have seen it, declares the Lord. 12Go now to bfmy place that was in Shiloh, bgwhere I made my name dwell at first, and bhsee what I did to it because of the evil of my people Israel.
