11 aWhat to me is the multitude of your sacrifices?
says the Lord;
I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams

this trampling of my courts?

Isaiah 58:4-6

4Behold, you fast only to quarrel and to fight
and to hit with a wicked fist.
Fasting like yours this day
will not make your voice to be heard on high.
5 cIs such the fast that I choose,
da day for a person to humble himself?
Is it to bow down his head like a reed,
and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him?
Will you call this a fast,
and a day acceptable to the Lord?
6 “Is not this the fast that I choose:
eto loose the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the straps fof the yoke,
to let the oppressed
Or bruised
go free,
and to break every yoke?

6The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord. The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since aahe gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7For abnone of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. 8For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, acwhether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. 9For to this end Christ addied and lived again, that he might be Lord both aeof the dead and of the living.
