Isaiah 1:16-18

16 aWash yourselves; make yourselves clean;
remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
bcease to do evil,
17learn to do good;
cseek justice,
correct oppression;
dbring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow’s cause.
18 Come now, elet us reason
Or dispute
together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as gwhite as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.

Matthew 23:23

23 hWoe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For iyou tithe mint and dill and jcumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: kjustice and mercy and faithfulness. lThese you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.
