Isaiah 1:16-20
16 aWash yourselves; make yourselves clean;remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes;
bcease to do evil,
17learn to do good;
cseek justice,
correct oppression;
dbring justice to the fatherless,
plead the widow’s cause.
18 “Come now, elet us reason ▼
▼Or dispute
together, says the Lord:though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as gwhite as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.
19 hIf you are willing and obedient,
you shall eat the good of the land;
20but if you refuse and rebel,
you shall be eaten by the sword;
ifor the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
Isaiah 55:6-7
6 j“Seek the Lord while he may be found;call upon him while he is near;
7let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Jeremiah 7:3-7
3Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: kAmend your ways and your deeds, and I will let you dwell in this place. 4 lDo not trust in these deceptive words: ‘This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.’5“For if you truly mamend your ways and your deeds, if you truly nexecute justice one with another, 6if you odo not oppress the sojourner, the fatherless, or the widow, por shed innocent blood in this place, qand if you do not go after other gods to your own harm, 7 rthen I will let you dwell in this place, sin the land that I gave of old to your fathers forever.
Jeremiah 18:11
