Isaiah 1:18

18 Come now, alet us reason
Or dispute
together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as cwhite as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.

Ezekiel 18:26-32

26 dWhen a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die. 27Again, ewhen a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life. 28Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 29Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, are my ways not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?

30Therefore fI will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. gRepent and turn from all your transgressions, hlest iniquity be your ruin.
Or lest iniquity be your stumbling block
31 jCast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and kmake yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! lWhy will you die, O house of Israel? 32 mFor I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God; nso turn, and live.”

Romans 5:20-21

20Now othe law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, pgrace abounded all the more, 21so that, qas sin reigned in death, rgrace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

James 1:15

15Then desire swhen it has conceived gives birth to sin, and tsin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

James 4:7-10

7Submit yourselves therefore to God. uResist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 vDraw near to God, and he will draw near to you. wCleanse your hands, you sinners, and xpurify your hearts, yyou double-minded. 9 zBe wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 aaHumble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

1 John 5:16

16If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he shall ask, and abGod
Greek he
will give him life—to those who commit sins that do not lead to death. adThere is sin that leads to death; aeI do not say that one should pray for that.
