3The ox aknows its owner,
and the donkey its master’s crib,
but Israel does bnot know,
my people do not understand.”

Isaiah 6:9-10

9And he said, “Go, and say to this people:

c“‘Keep on hearing,
Or Hear indeed
but do not understand;
keep on seeing,
Or see indeed
but do not perceive.’
10 fMake the heart of this people gdull,
Hebrew fat

and their ears heavy,
and blind their eyes;
ilest they see with their eyes,
and hear with their ears,
and understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed.”

Isaiah 29:9-14

9 Astonish yourselves
Or Linger awhile
and be astonished;
blind yourselves and be blind!
Be drunk, but not with wine;
kstagger, but not with strong drink!
10 lFor the Lord has poured out upon you
a spirit of deep sleep,
and has closed your eyes (the prophets),
and covered your heads (the seers).
11And the vision of all this has become to you like the words of a book that is msealed. When men give it to one who can read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot, for it is sealed.” 12And when they give the book to one who cannot read, saying, “Read this,” he says, “I cannot read.”

13 And the Lord said:
Because nthis people odraw near with their mouth
and honor me with their lips,
while their hearts are far from me,
and their fear of me is a commandment taught by men,
14therefore, behold, pI will again
do wonderful things with this people,
with wonder upon wonder;
and qthe wisdom of their wise men shall perish,
and the discernment of their discerning men shall be hidden.”

Isaiah 42:19-20

19Who is blind but my servant,
or deaf as my messenger whom I send?
Who is blind as my dedicated one,
Or  as the one at peace with me

or blind as the servant of the Lord?
20 sHe sees many things, but does not observe them;
this ears are open, but he does not hear.

Isaiah 56:10

10 uHis watchmen are blind;
they are all without knowledge;
they are all silent vdogs;
they cannot bark,
dreaming, lying down,
loving to slumber.

Jeremiah 8:7-9

7Even the stork in the heavens
knows her times,
and wthe turtledove, xswallow, and crane
The meaning of the Hebrew word is uncertain

of the Lord.
8 abHow can you say, ‘We are wise,
and the law of the Lord is with us’?
But behold, the lying pen of the scribes
has made it into a lie.
9 acThe wise men shall be put to shame;
they shall be dismayed adand taken;
behold, they have rejected the word of the Lord,
so what wisdom is in them?

Hosea 4:6

6My people are destroyed aefor lack of knowledge;
afbecause you have rejected knowledge,
I reject you agfrom being a priest to me.
And since you have forgotten the law of your God,
ahI also will forget your children.
