Isaiah 1:4-6

4 Ah, sinful nation,
a people laden with iniquity,
aoffspring of evildoers,
children who deal corruptly!
They have forsaken the Lord,
they have bdespised cthe Holy One of Israel,
they are utterly destranged.
5 Why will you still be estruck down?
Why will you fcontinue to rebel?
The whole head is sick,
and the whole heart faint.
6 gFrom the sole of the foot even to the head,
there is no soundness in it,
but bruises and sores
and raw wounds;
they are hnot pressed out or bound up
or softened with oil.

10 Hear the word of the Lord,
you rulers of i, jSodom!
Give ear to the teaching
Or law
of our God,
you people of lGomorrah!
11 mWhat to me is the multitude of your sacrifices?
says the Lord;
I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
and the fat of well-fed beasts;
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
or of lambs, or of goats.
12 “When you come to nappear before me,
who has required of you
this trampling of my courts?
13Bring no more vain offerings;
incense is an abomination to me.
oNew moon and Sabbath and the pcalling of convocations
I cannot endure qiniquity and rsolemn assembly.
14Your snew moons and your appointed feasts
my soul hates;
they have become a burden to me;
I am weary of bearing them.
15When you tspread out your hands,
I will hide my eyes from you;
ueven though you make many prayers,
I will not listen;
vyour hands are full of blood.

I have abandoned wmy heritage;
I have given xthe beloved of my soul
into the hands of her enemies.
8 yMy heritage has become to me
like a lion in the forest;
she has lifted up her voice against me;
therefore I hate her.
9Is zmy heritage to me like aaa hyena’s lair?
Are the abbirds of prey against her all around?
Go, acassemble all the wild beasts;
bring them to devour.
