Isaiah 10:1-2

1 Woe to those who ^adecree iniquitous decrees,
and the writers who ^bkeep writing oppression,
2 to turn aside the needy from justice
and ^cto rob the poor of my people of their right,
that widows may be their spoil,
and that they may make the fatherless their prey!

Jeremiah 5:28-29

28 ^dthey have grown fat and sleek.
They know no bounds in deeds of evil;
^ethey judge not with justice
the cause of the fatherless, to make it prosper,
and they do not defend the rights of the needy.
29 ^fShall I not punish them for these things?

declares the Lord,
and shall I not avenge myself
on a nation such as this?”

Zechariah 7:10

10 ^gdo not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the sojourner, ^hor the poor, and ⁱlet none of you devise evil against another in your heart.”

Malachi 3:5

5 “Then I will draw near to you for judgment. I will be ^ja swift witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against those who swear falsely, against those ^kwho oppress the hired worker in his wages, ^lthe widow and the fatherless, against those who thrust aside the sojourner, and do not fear me, says the Lord of hosts.

Luke 18:2-5

2 He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who ^mneither feared God nor respected man. 3 And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ 4 For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ⁿ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’”
