Isaiah 10:12-13

12 aWhen the Lord has finished all his work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, bhe
Hebrew I
will punish the speech of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria and the boastful look in his eyes.
13 dFor he says:

“By the strength of my hand I have done it,
and by my wisdom, for I have understanding;
I remove the boundaries of peoples,
and plunder their treasures;
like a bull I bring down those who sit on thrones.

Ezekiel 28:2-9

2 eSon of man, say to fthe prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord God:

g“Because your heart is proud,
and hyou have said, ‘I am a god,
I sit in the seat of the gods,
in the heart of the seas,’
yet iyou are but a man, and no god,
jthough you make your heart like the heart of a god
3 kyou are indeed wiser lthan mDaniel;
no secret is hidden from you;
4by your wisdom and your understanding
nyou have made wealth for yourself,
and have gathered gold and silver
into your treasuries;
5by your great wisdom in your trade
you have increased your wealth,
and oyour heart has become proud in your wealth
6therefore thus says the Lord God:
pBecause you make your heart
like the heart of a god,
7therefore, behold, I will bring qforeigners upon you,
the most ruthless of the nations;
and they shall draw their swords against rthe beauty of your wisdom
and defile syour splendor.
8 tThey shall thrust you down into the pit,
uand you shall die the death of the slain
in the heart of the seas.
9 vWill you still say, ‘I am a god,’
in the presence of those who kill you,
though wyou are but a man, and no god,
in the hands of those who slay you?

Romans 1:22

22 xClaiming to be wise, they became fools,

1 Corinthians 1:19-21

19For it is written,

y“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”
20 zWhere is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? aaHas not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach
Or  the folly of preaching
to save those who believe.

1 Corinthians 1:27-29

27But acGod chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; adGod chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28God chose what is low and despised in the world, even aethings that are not, to afbring to nothing things that are, 29so agthat no human being
Greek  no flesh
might boast in the presence of God.

1 Corinthians 3:18-20

18 aiLet no one deceive himself. ajIf anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 19For akthe wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, al“He catches the wise in their craftiness,” 20and again, am“The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”
